Sand and Sandbags Available at Four Washington County Locations in Preparation for Tropical Storm Isaias
Washington County, Florida — October 7, 2026 — Washington County officials are making sand and sandbags available to Washington County residents beginning at 2:30 p.m. CST today, October 7, 2026, to assist residents in preparing for the inclement weather associated with the approaching hurricane.
Sand and sandbags will be available at the following locations:
•Vernon Fire & Rescue 3560 Roche Ave. Vernon, FL 32462
•Ebro Fire Department 6629 Dog Track Rd. Ebro, FL 32437
•Hinson Crossroads Fire Department 5487 Douglas Ferry Rd. Caryville, FL 32427
•Orange Hill Fire Station 1927 Orange Hill Rd. Chipley, FL 32428
Residents are encouraged to take precautions now and prepare for possible heavy rainfall, flooding, strong winds, and other hazardous weather conditions associated with the storm.
Residents should continue to monitor official Washington County and Emergency Management communications for additional updates and instructions.
