Volusia County Opens Registration for Opioid Abatement Funding

Volusia County’s Community Assistance Division is accepting registrations for Opioid Abatement Program funding through Sept. 21. Registered applicants can then submit funding applications from Aug. 21 through Sept. 21.

Volusia County’s Opioid Abatement Advisory Board, which ensures that settlement funds from the State of Florida are used to address opioid-related impacts within the county, anticipates receiving $2.5 million for eligible programs, projects and services. Board members include representatives from Volusia County and the 13 participating municipalities.

Local governments, municipalities, and nonprofit and for-profit organizations may apply. Proposals must address the opioid crisis, align with the Volusia County Opioid Abatement Plan, and either expand or enhance an existing program or service, or create a new one.

To register, complete the contact form at https://www.volusia.org/opioidadvisory. The link also includes details on eligible funding uses and Volusia County's abatement plan. Access to the application portal will open Aug. 21.

Applications submitted late or missing required supplemental documents will not be accepted.
